Rolling Hills has a rich history of golf and tradition for generations past and present. As an employee, you will be a part of a private Club established in 1966! You will be a part of the historical Club that offers golf enthusiasts an impressive 18-hole golf course, four full tennis courts, social activities for all members and their families and a spectacular cuisine and dining experience. Rolling Hills also offers its members banquet/catering services and amenities for upcoming weddings, brunches, cocktail parties, and many other private events.


Job Summary (Essential Functions)

A Host is the first interaction with Members. Responsible for seating of Members and Guests.  Greeting of the Members as they arrive.  The Host will also answer phones to for reservations & to-go orders.  Should have solid organization and people skills to ensure that Members and guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.  


Skills & Abilities:

         Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

         Must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.  

         Ability to adhere to wine and food service policies, procedures, and safety and sanitation.

         Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions.

         Ability to work as a team player and maintain a professional appearance at all times.

         Ability to use POS system.

         Ability to work all shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

         Ability to read, write, see, speak, and hear English.

         Understanding of restaurant etiquette.

         Experience in managing reservations.

         Good physical condition to walk and stand during a shift.

         Excellent communication skills (phone and in person)


         Experience in a restaurant preferred.

         Knowledge of food and wine trends preferred.


         High School diploma or GED equivalent



         Requires ability to bend, stoop, lift, balance and carry items up to 50lbs.

         Ability to assist in moving furniture when necessary.

         Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

         Ability to operate and handle a computer, wine opener, and other restaurant equipment.

         Ability to move about freely on a multi-floor building.






  • Arrange Host station for appropriate shift.
  • Greet Members with smile and direct eye contact as they arrive.
  • Manage the flow of Members & Guests, giving accurate wait times if necessary.
  • Answering of incoming calls for reservations and take-out orders.
  • Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions. Ensuring accuracy when packing take-out orders.
  • Helps dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, refilling water, serving drinks.
  • Handles all member & credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Keeps podium, main foyer clean.
  • Responsible of cleanliness and stocking of lobby restrooms
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
  • Clean and print menus as needed.
  • Observant to Member's needs.
  • Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by Manager.
  • Required to be in proper and complete uniform as designated and be at scheduled station at scheduled time.
  • Assist with Dining Room service and help to oversee
  • Ensure side work is complete for lunch and dinner
  • Menus out for each meal period, accurate, and clean
  • Wine list current
  • Support Management and Team
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
